Profile
Ron has been providing tax and business services to clients since 1967. He has developed a substantial practice that is based primarily on family business consulting, litigation support, and tax services for individuals and businesses. In some of his recent significant engagements, he has also represented buyers and sellers in business sales transactions, handled complex estate administration issues and provided for the planning and facilitation of mergers.
As one of its founding shareholders, Ron became a driving force in the establishment of Drucker & Scaccetti, P.C. in 1990. Previously, he was a partner and Director of Tax Services for Laventhol & Horwath in its Philadelphia office, and served as partner in charge of the New Jersey offices. In addition to his client service and administrative responsibilities, he also coauthored the book, Your Family Business - A Success Guide for Growth and Survival, which was published by Dow Jones-Irwin.
Ron received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Pace University in 1964. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from St. John's University Law School in 1967, and his Master of Law degree from New York University Graduate School of Law in 1976.
Ron is a member of the New York Bar and of the American Bar Association, as well as of the New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Institutes of Certified Public Accountants. In addition, he has been designated as a Fellow by the Family Firm Institute, which is the largest professional organization devoted to family business consulting.
Ron and two other shareholders of Drucker & Scaccetti, P.C. are partners in the Philadelphia law firm of Shaiman, Drucker, Beckman & Sobel, LLP. Ron is also a founder and partner in the New Jersey CPA firm of Drucker, Math & Whitman, P.C.
Personal Information
Ron lives with his wife Susan in Wayne, Pennsylvania. Originally from New York, Ron and Susan have made the Delaware Valley their home for the past 23 years. They have two adult daughters who are both successful in their professional careers.
Ron and Susan enjoy being with family and friends and relish the opportunity to travel. Ron also enjoys arranging trips for friends and especially delights in discovering new restaurants and bakeries. In fact, he has been known to travel hundreds of miles to evaluate the quality of a bakery’s Napoleons, cheesecakes, sticky buns and other goods. For Ron, the challenge is to find the best pies in Alaska, the best Napoleons in Paris or the best pastries in Budapest. Better yet is to make these discoveries with friends and family willing to participate in the hunt.
Ron’s interest in hotels and restaurants stems from his many years in the Catskill Mountains; his family’s association with various aspects of the food business; and his experience with Laventhol & Horwath, former leaders in the field of hospitality consulting. Ron has not only provided consulting services to resorts, hotels and restaurants, he has also invested in these types of businesses, and on occasion has managed and sold them.
In addition to restaurants and hotels, Ron’s diverse interests include genealogy, hiking and horse racing. In fact, he currently owns an interest in a two-year-old pacer named Presidential Antics.
