The D&S Experience
There are a number of factors that contribute to defining the D&S work experience. First, the environment
at any firm is shaped by the people who work there. At D&S, we are very proud that the members of
our firm bring a variety of experiences, cultures and educational backgrounds to the D&S environment.
The structure of our firm is another significant factor that affects the experience of working at D&S.
Our "Shareholder-Associate" format, comparable to a law firm approach, avoids the bureaucracy
of the pyramid structure used by traditional accounting firms. Our firm structure facilitates mentoring
and counseling between our most experienced members and those associates who are newer to
the profession. With shareholder guidance and support, our associates become more directly
involved in servicing our clients than they would in a traditional accounting firm environment.
At D&S, we further support the advancement of our associates be encouraging them to attain
professional certifications, such as their CPA and/or law license. We also encourage them to pursue advanced
degrees in taxation or law
Finally, in association with several local universities, D&S hires undergraduate accounting sudents as
part of our Cooperative Education Program. We have an extremely successful track record in developing
the skills of these students. In fact, upon graduation, most of them make the decision to join our firm - a decision
that further reflects the quality of the D&S experience.

Finally, our Associates are encouraged to attain professional
certifications as CPA's and/or JD's, and are also encouraged to pursue
advanced degrees in Taxation and/or Law.
